Maybe it should have clicked in the back of my head when I rolled out of bed to go VOTE.
For some reason after telling myself that the election was SO close that I wouldnt bother to catch the results until THURSDAY. I opted to watch the movie “21 Grams” instead which is very good btw.
Foe much of the day I got random “disappointed” IMs, emails and phone calls die to Kerry’s defeat.
So tonight/this morning I’m listening to NPR about the country is somewhat “divided” almost like a cival war and about “morality” and of course RELIGION.
Then it ALL made sense.
In February 2003 I got an email from a familiy member that ANOTHER family member was actually MEETING with the President.
Like a REAL meeting about 50 minutes for Tennesee “Faith-based Initiative”
On top of that during a speech President Bush even quotes/says my own flesh and bloods name
(who happens to be a pastor).

Despite the lies and the war I KNOW for a fact that those people in Tennesee and probably MORE family members VOTED for Bush for one simple reason.
THEY GO TO CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY.
Simple as that, old school morals. Plain and Simple.
Speaking of simple, the last few weeks of the campaign George Bush wasnt even wearing a tie no more.
Don’t make him cool with me, but them “nascar” dudes LOVE that.
Who is our choice? Kerry the Funeral Director or Lurch (insert laugh here)
It wasnt about Voting or Dying. Or even given thought that its “ok” for gay people to be married.
More like Living your Life and Voting and continuing to live your life.
My life isn’t any different now that Bush is still in office.
To most people the “War in Iraq” is just another reality show on t.v. that happens to show its promos during the 6 O’ clock news.
Clinton was at least “semi-cool” and played the saxophone!
He even got an office in Harlem still.
Kerry windsurfed and went to shoot geese. I can’t relate.
Kerry didnt have much to lose though.
In fact after his concession speech I bet he had a $65 hamburger with lots of Heinz Ketchup!
Seriously, he/(his wife) has $300 million reasons to be happy about.
Other countries have as much as NINE different political parties to represent the people.
As diverse as America is we still have the option of just TWO??
Until that changes in a major way I’m keeping my black ass vote in my backpocket until someone asks for it with something valuable in return.
Back in my former life working in television I worked on covering the Kerry-Weld debate back in 199?, and got to meet dude up close and personal when someone from the crew was putting on his lavalier microphone.
Looking back on it now he struck me as “Good for Massachusetts Senator” and
NOT Grand High Exalted Leader of the Free World.
Not that George qualifies for it either, but I respect his HUSTLE.
I remember my Guanese barber telling me months ago:
“Those in power, stay in power”
Not the kind of thing that you regularly hear while getting your afro cut .
I think its a quote from Mohammed, either way it rings true.
Its achieved through religion and culture or “sex, drugs and rock and roll” or in these days hiphop and politics.
With faced with the choice of “the lesser of two evils” we should have looked at it in terms of using
WINDOWS or MAC operating systems.
Both have their advantages and limits.
Use what best suits you until something better comes along
:hehe:
Terrorists with etiquette who vote and kill their president
Their capacity for evil so evident and prevalent
Ain’t no hesitation involved, a nation dissolved
While we sit back waitin’ to evolve
Those who would trade in their freedom
For their protection deserve neither
Beef is not what these famous niggas do on the mic
Beef is what George Bush would do in a fight
Yeah, beef is not what Ja said to 50
Beef is more than Irv not bein here with me
When a soldier ends his life with his own gun
Beef is tryin’ to figure out what to tell his son
Beef is oil prices and geopolitics
Beef is Iraq, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip
Some beef is big and some beef is small
But what y’all call beef is not beef at all
