Today IAC and Black Web Enterprises launched the first “black oriented search engine”.
Supposedly the site works on a “patented algorithm that determines which Web sites are most frequently visited by African Americans, then merges that data into a mainstream search crawl.
The technology will also incorporate user data from its own user searches to refine its focus.”
I’ve worked with some SEO and SEM gurus and have been presented with an Ethnographic Analysis along with a Competitive Analysis in the reports. From a marketing perspective for a company it makes sense.
But a “patented algorithm” sounds like stereotypical borderline racist, technologically advanced bullshit to me.
Do they really think black people will use this over GOOGLE?

I thought that same thing when I read it and then said, well maybe I didint really understand what they were saying or doing.
A day late and a dollar short!
