The best political community is formed by citizens of the middle class.
Choice is an illusion, created between those with power, and those without.
It’s only by amusing oneself that one can learn.
Too often we…enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
Be great in act, as you have been in thought.

See the curtains hanging in the window
In the evening on a Friday night
A little light a-shining through the window
Lets me know everythings alright
CHORUS:
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
See the paper lying on the sidewalk
A little music from the house next door
So I walk on up to the door step
Through the screen and across the floor
Repeat chorus
Sweet days of summer, the jasmine’s in bloom
July is dressed up and playing her tune
When I come home from a hard days work
And you’re waiting there, not a care in the world
See the smile a-waiting in the kitchen
Food cooking and the plates for two
Feel the arms that reach out to hold me
In the evening when the day is through

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.
From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.
It is a day, a week, and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long over due. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society.

God grant me the serentity to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

From last night:

So I’m sitting at the DGA (Directors Guild of America) theatre waiting for the screening of
“BATMAN BEGINS” to…well..BEGIN…
I have to say I haven’t been too excited for any new movies lately including STAR WARS which I still have yet to see.
2 hours Later:

This is the BEST BATMAN movie out of all of them.
I don’t add the fact the the star himself Christian Bale was there to talk about the process of making it.
They set out to do a film that was definitive of the darker graphic novels a la “Batman: Year One” by Frank Miller. It was THAT and closer to the “Batman: Detective Comics.
Overall one of the best films I’ve seen so far this year. Good to see Morgan Freeman make up for that debacle known as “Unleashed”…was Jet Li trying to get an Oscar or something?
On the way from the theatre up the block I met the actor Keith David , the voice of SPAWN and Goliath from Gargoyles, Clockers, Dead Preseidents, etc…I’m do a fillm with him one of these days for sure.
As I predicted its down to the Pistons and Spurs in the NBA finals. I will wait until Game 7 to get on the edge of my seat.
:hehe:

Taking a break from coding a new website for a client, which has been taking the bulk of my extra time this week. NOW I remember why I really don’t like building websites anymore.
According to the php code on the right side of my site pulling the weather from some server somewhere and what I can see out the window:
It’s overcast
Temperture: 61?F
Feels like: A little COLDER than 61?F
Humidity: 100%
Wind: NNE at 5 mph
Visibility: 3 miles
Condition
light rain & misty
I’m smoking a week old Don Juan cigar (Hand-made in Nicaragua) that I forgot was in my bag.
I’m looking out the window and these hiphop lyrics come to mind:
the street light reflects off the piss on the ground
which reflects off the hamburger sign as it turns round
which reflects off the chrome of the bmw
which reflects off the fact that i am broke
now what the fuck is new?
-The Coup “FAT CATS, BIGGA FISH”
Back to work…
